In fact, there are two topical products for acne treatment. The first product is the acne cleanser. The cleanser consists of topical elements like glycolic acid, antibacterial components and also salicylic acid. As for the creams and gels, they are made of Benzoyl peroxide.
There are several things that you have to understand about OTC acne treatment before applying them. In order to apply your treatment correctly, you need cover your pimples and other sorts of acnes on your face completely. There should be instructions in the package and please read it up for correct use. Normally, this product will show its result by six to eight weeks time. If it works then you can consider continue using it. If it does not work, it is best to seek for medical treatment.
OTC acne treatment can cause dryness to certain people. If you have such experience, there are several things that you need to know. You need to ensure that you are using a mild cleanser because high concentration cleansers cause dryness and irritation. Besides that it is advisable to get moisturizers for your skin. Our skin cannot be dry at all times and needs some moisture. Lastly, control the use of topical products as it does not suit everyone. Once you are used to it, apply it a little more for better result.
