There are grades of vanity. There are only grades of ability in concealing it. This famous line came from one of the literary master, William Shakespeare. We can only deny that we are vain but obviously we all are suffering from its effect. Not everyone understands the danger of narcissism thus putting them in danger. This is primarily why it is a part of the religious seven deadliest sins.
Self-centered people are without virtue. They tend to take advantage of others thus moving them to anger, depression, frustration and anxiety. Leveling with these individuals is time consuming and worthless. The Bible warns us never to address them without being discreet and virtuous. We are all vain by nature. However we can lessen it or avoid it depending on the values you were taught.
The signs of the time are repeatedly warning us. We should learn to observe and read between the lines. Many literature have been written about it hoping that it can save our souls. This includes The Holy Bible which repeatedly implicated its effects to society. Many artists and historians were inspired to entertain us dramatically with its morals. Signs are also put up as reminders of its nature. It cannot be ignored.
Cleopatra was devoured greatly by her greed and vanity. She was a vengeful queen that ruled over Egypt through conspiracy and deceit. She used her beauty to conquer the rulers of Rome thus leading her to her horrible death. She was so self-indulgent that she was cursed herself to death after Egypt was conquered by Rome. She was sentenced to doom putting her child in danger and adoption.
Unfortunate events can only result from complacency. No good will ever come to those who fails to recognize the vain reality that surrounds him. Lessen indulgence to make this a better world.
