Palm Pre-Palm offers a viable alternative to the iPhone

by admindgs

The palm Pre is a distinctive looking phone, in fact most would consider its looks more like a standard PDA than a mobile phone. Also considering that this phone is being introduced by Palm, a well, known brand within the PDA market, that misconception can be excused. However Palm has, with the forthcoming introduction of this phone, blown away any misconceived ideas that they cannot offer an exciting mobile phone offering. This phone is different, but it's also exciting and innovative.

The phone utilises the latest web Os platform and the phone is better for this. Intuitive layout and design adds to an already impressive feature packed phone. The phone offers alternatives throughout its offering and starts with data input, touch screen or QWERTY keypad, the choice is yours. Both are provided in this phone, the touch screen is 3.1 inches and is high resolution with the added benefit of multi touch support. The QWERTY keyboard slides out from the underside of the phone and offers an excellent means to write email, text documents or navigate throughout the phone

Multiple applications ensure the palm theme is never forgotten with an extremely useful activity card system enabling multiple applications can be open at any time. Connectivity is provided with Blue tooth, which has A2DP support and microUSB. Internal memory of a massive 8GB ensures that plenty of software can be loaded and used as well as plenty of space for media, images or music.

A 3 mega pixel camera is provided with LED flash and the usual refinements that would be expected on a phone of this quality. For ease of viewing images a built in accelerometer sensor provides an automatic means of rotating the screen. Ambient light and proximity sensors add to the burgeoning list of features. The ensemble of functions is completed with GPS and Wi-Fi for internet connectivity.

The palm Pre is an interesting phone, it packs a real punch in most quarters, and it's ideally suited to the professional who needs access to multiple applications and internet access whilst on the move. That said it provides a level of equipment which means that its offers everything that would be reasonably need by any individual, and as such covers the whole spectrum of possible users.
