Great Vacation in Tulum
by Ella VennsI’ve wanted to give my mother a perfect vacation, some sort of a gift to her. She’s been very kind, caring and a loving mother to me and to my other four siblings. She’s been working so hard for our family. I love her so much that I really want to make sure that it will be the one of the best vacations. I want to make it up to my mom and really wanted to make her happy. After several months of researching, saving money and planning, I decided to choose Tulum as our destination. I got a lot of help from my friends too. They said Tulum is really beautiful. Upon our arrival we where warmly greeted by a Tulum hotel personnel. We had one of the better cabanas. It is facing the beach. But take note there is no electricity in the entire hotel zone of Tulum and bring some mosquito repellent sprays, like we I did. Mom like the rustic cabana, and the big romantic bed covered in mosquito netting. And after a refreshing shower she quickly fell asleep. In the morning we immediately ventured out to explore the surroundings. Tulum is undeniably a paradise for us. My mom immediately noticed the beach. She’s excited to go swimming. The white sand is as fine as sugar and the clear neon-blue water were so incredible. Together we snorkeled on our own, straight out from the beach. My mom describes the beach as idyllic. It is secluded where you can relax and enjoy as you watch the beauty of nature that Tulum. It is not spoilt by tourism and has a real Mexican feel about it. There were great people in the hotel that helped us about what to see and where to go when we do get there. The locals were friendly too. They gave us some great restaurant recommendations and also jungle tours idea. We had the chance to observe the different varieties of cactus, orchids, birds, fish, and cenote turtles. At the end of the day we enjoyed the very relaxing massage. We also visited the ruins of course, early in the morning. One should really invest time to absorb everything that they are seeing. Take time to absorb the view and the architectural splendor. We were also advised to bring our swimsuits. To be able to swim in the crystal blue waters that roll right up to the Mayan temples was an extraordinary opportunity. The next time I’ll visit Tulum, I really want to try kiteboarding. I find it as a non-intimidating place to learn such sport. All in all we really had a great time in Tulum and we had the chance to bond. We’ll definitely return, along with my brother and sisters.
