Many SEM professionals are forthcoming about what books to read and which websites to visit to learn everything you need to know about search engine marketing. It is invaluable to get the basic SEM knowledge before stepping into an interview.
Attend a convention or expo, sign up for Web 2.0 conferences and get a free expo pass. This will allow you to meet companies in the Exhibit Area and attend some basic sessions on Search Engine Marketing.
Search Marketing Job Boards
You have the knowledge and now you are looking for a job. All the usual job websites are recommended, including Monster, Craigslist, and Careerbuilder. Some of the more specific SEM job websites include SEMPO, Oaseo.com, and the Search Engine Watch Job Board. Send as many resumes as you can, a successful job search requires that you find the one opportunity that best fits your wants and strengths. Once you get the telephone interview you have your foot in the door.
