No Reasons for Doing These: Do You Know Why
by Jack ReiderFacts, oddities, incidental details: these are only some of the few things I examine in the following twenty features I have come up with concerning life and all its intricacies. Some will make you laugh, others will make you scratch your chin, but whatever your behaviour, each and every one of these twenty or so queries.
1) Why does the glue in a tube not stick to the tube itself?
2) Sanity statistics has proven that one out of four people are insane or suffer from some form of mental disease. Think of three of your best friends. If they are fine, then you must be the fourth one.
3) Sometimes, off and on, the batteries that we have placed in our remote control start to weaken. Even though we are well aware of this, why do we press the buttons harder and harder?
4) Supposedly the man from the jungle lives in the jungle, yes? Then, how and where did his beard disappear to?
5) How is it that no matter how tight you close the shutters of light bulbs, flies or other insects manage to get inside?
6) Why can't we ever manage to open a plastic bag on the first attempt?
7) Why do they use sterilized needles when injecting a convict on death role?
8) Have you noticed that if your bank account gets overdrawn, your bank will add an extra charge? Why do they do that? Should you maybe inform them that the reason your checkings account is overdrawn is because you don't have money?
9) Why doesn't anyone ever make fun of their father-in-law?
10) Why do people believe it when scientists say that there are about four billion stars, but feel they must check it if someone places a sign saying wet paint on a piece of furniture?
11) How many times will we return to the fridge even though there is no food in it and we know that from the previous time we paid a visit just minutes ago?
12) Even though superman is supposed to be invincible and bullets ricochet off his chest, why does he duck if the villain lobs the pistol at him when the bullets are over?
13) According to those that swear by the theory of evolution mankind has only evolved from the race of the monkeys. If so, how come monkeys are still hanging around?
14) Why is it that when we try to catch something that is falling off a table, our hand knocks down something else?
15) Heard of the Jap airplane pilots who towards the end of the Second World War crashed their planes into American naval ships? Why did these guys even think of wearing a helmet?
16) The next you vacuum your living room floor, explain what happens when you try to vacuum a tiny thread. The vacuum will not be able to suck it. Why then will you pick it up, examine it thoroughly and instead of placing it in the dustbin, throw it back down and try to vacuum it up again?
17) How come soap bubbles are always white no matter what the colour of the soap?
18) Is it winter or summer wherever you are right now? Have you noticed that if it is summer we try and make the house as cold as it would be during winter, and if it is winter, we try and make the house as hot as it would during summer?
19) I have passed across many shops and marketplaces where they sell mattresses, and yet, I have yet to find one where the mattresses are not advertised as being part of a sale!
20) When we go to the supermarket and someone hits our ankles with their cart and then apologize, why do we reply that everything is fine? Why don't we just reply, "that hurts, asshole"?
Conclusion:
There are many more than the above twenty funny odd and strange details of a human being's life, and I am always looking for more. Sometimes, just by traveling by bus you can notice so many oddities such as why do people pick up newspapers left behind on bus seats but never from anywhere else? Life is more than just funny. It is sometimes strange, sometimes ludicrous, sometimes tragic. Above, I have pointed out some of the most humourous I could think of.
